Rock Icon, Rick Derringer, Has Sadly Passed Away At 77

Guitar legend, Rick Derringer, died in his sleep earlier this week. TMZ reports that he had been taken off life support after a medical episode. Known for signature hit, ‘Rock and Roll, Hoochie-Joo’, Derringer was more than a guitarist and singer. He was a songwriter and producer, working with some of the biggest names in music: Cyndi Lauper, KISS, Steely Dan, Todd Rundgren and others like Barbra Streisand and Weird Al (producing six of his albums). Wrestling fans, you may not realize it, but Rick also produced ‘The Wrestling Album’ in the mid 80s for the WWE. In addition, he was friends with many in the music world, including Paul McCartney.
