The holiday movie season is in full swing, with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Red One topping the weekend box office with over 34 mil!

The movie – which casts Johnson as Santa’s head of security and Chris Evans as an ace tracker – have to team up to find out who’s kidnapped St. Nick and basically save the North Pole and Christmas!

The $200 million Christmas-themed action comedy made just $34.1 million in opening weekend. But “Red One” is an Amazon MGM Studios release with the luxury of playing the long game with streaming where Johnson tentpoles often overperform. The film may have a life on Prime Video for years to come.
