John Mellencamp Goes Off On Fan At A Recent Show!…But Was The Fan Right Or Wrong?

John Mellencamp is known for writing and singing some of the greatest songs in rock-n-roll history: ‘ROCK In The USA’, ‘Cherry Bomb’ and many others. But he’s also known for having a bit of a temper. At his concert over the weekend, John stopped in the middle of the show to share some stories. That’s when a member of the audience shouted something to the effect, “less talk, more rock!”. Oh, no…how did this clown really think John was gonna handle being told what to do at HIS own show?! And if I had to guess, the fan probably had a couple of drinks in him, which gave him some liquid courage (or stupidity). As you’ll see in the video below, Mellencamp lit into the guy! I’m actually divided on this incident because I see where the critical fan was coming from. He paid a few hundred dollars to hear John SING, not ramble on telling stories. However, I think it’s pretty cool when an artist opens up and tells the backstory of how they created a song, or shares some personal tale. It’s very intimate…just as long as it doesn’t drag on. It’s a slippery slope in stopping the music at a concert. Some musicians let their egos get the best of them and think that the audience is hanging on their every word~
