It was one of the most famous love triangles in rock and roll history, and now some of the love letters between Eric Clapton and Pattie Boyd will be sold at auction. There will also be letters from Boyd’s husband, George Harrison, that will go to the highest bidder. This has all the makings of a reality show, but you’ll remember it was back in 1970. Clapton’s letters asked Pattie if she still loved her husband…and wondering if she still desired him. Well, it worked because the pair would marry in 1979. If it had happened today, I suppose they would have been infamous text messages, right? Christie’s Auction House will welcome bids starting March 8th. I suppose a diehard Beatles fan or rock and roll historian might open up their wallet for these letters?
