For the House of Mouse’s latest adventure film “Strange World” certainly lives up to its title.

The unfamiliar land is Avalonia and our heroes are the Clade family, famed explorers led by a gruff patriarch named Jaeger (Dennis Quaid). On a snowy journey with his son Searcher (Jake Gyllenhaal) to attempt to finally reach the other side of the bordering mountains, Jaeger disappears. Curious Searcher, meanwhile, discovers a mysterious plantlike power source and returns home dad-less.

The movie spends most of its time 25 years later with the legendary Clades family led by Curious on their most crucial mission. It’s a fun animated tale of family explorer’s and perfect for the whole family when you’re itching to get out of the house this Thanksgiving holiday.
