Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone premiered 20 years ago, and Potterheads will be celebrating the film’s anniversary on a large scale just in time to ring in the new year. 

HBO Max will premiere a speciaL to celebrate the film’s legacy. Titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, the project will hit the streaming platform on January 1, 2022.  Legendary cast members including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson will reunite to discuss the making of the film during the saga’s 8 film run.

During the special, the cast will take a trip down memory lane — quite literally — as they travel back to Hogwarts for the first time to celebrate the film that started it all. The highly-anticipated retrospective will be a capstone event of the holiday season, dropping as the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, on HBO Max. Sneak Peek it here.
