“Halloween Kills” the latest installment in the Michael Myers saga is making a killing at the U.S. box office in its first weekend in theaters. The horror film produced by star Jamie Lee Curtis scared up just over 50 million.

Universal’s “Halloween Kills” came out slashing. It easily sleighed its main competition, which included the James Bond flick “No Time to Die,” in its second weekend,/ and Matt Damon’s medieval epic “The Last Duel.” Both of these movies are playing exclusively in theaters.

The film picks up where Green’s 2018 “Halloween” left off, on the same bloody night, with Jamie Lee Curtis back as Laurie Strode.  I was one of those Peacock Premium streamers and it still had me on the edge of my couch, eyes half shut, and a blanket on stand-by to cover my head.
