William Shatner Will Launch Into Space With Blue Origin Oct. 12th

After decades of playing Captain Kirk, William Shatner will be traveling to outer space for the first time!

The Hollywood star, best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk in “Star Trek,” will be on Blue Origin’s next rocket launch on October 12th. It will be the company’s second space-tourism launch since its founder Jeff Bezos traveled in July.

90-year-old Shatner will become the oldest person to travel into space,  Blue Origin said Shatner will be joined by Audrey Powers, the space venture’s vice president of mission and flight operations Shatner first took on the role of Captain James T. Kirk in 1966 — his TV character spawned seven movies in which Shatner reprised his role as the captain of the USS Enterprise.  “I’ve heard about space for a long time now, “I’m taking the opportunity to see it for myself.
