Marie Fredriksson, singer in duo Roxette, passed away on Monday after a 17-year battle with cancer according to MSN. She was 61 years old.

Per Gessle, Marie’s partner in Roxette said, “I’m proud, honoured and happy to have been able to share so much of your time, talent, warmth, generosity and sense of humour. All my love goes out to you and your family. Things will never be the same.”

Doctors discovered a brain tumor back in 2002. An aggressive treatment plan allowed her to get back on the road in 2009, however she was advised to stop touring in 2016.

Marie is survived by her husband and two kids.
