Well on this Wednesday April 11th, old school music lovers will be ditching their fancy iPods and digital music devices for the archaic 8-track player. It\’s National \’8-Track Tape Day\’. My dad still has an 8-track player in his man cave and jams out to Al Green and The Bee Gees! I think there\’s some nostalgic to still playing them, that is if the tape hasn\’t broken or disintegrated!
Here were the best selling 8-track tapes back in 1969 according to Billboard:
- \’Blood, Sweat & Tears\’ – Blood, Sweat & Tears
- \’In-A-Gadda-Da-VIda\’ – Iron Butterfly
- \’Johnny Cash At San Quentin\’ – Johnny Cash
- Hair
- \’Bayou Country\’ – Creedence Clearwater Revival
- Blind Faith
- \’Nashville Skyline\’ – Bob Dylan
- \’Age Of Aquarius\’ – Fifth Dimension
- Three Dog Night
- Led Zeppelin
