This week, my wife and I celebrated our son Reed’s first birthday! He had been battling a head and chest cold, so we weren’t sure of what he’d think of all the guests at his party. Well since cake was involved, it was a smashing success!
Reed needed a little help from daddy with the pinata contest…maybe in a couple of years he’ll perfect his swing…I mean, there’s ALL that candy in the pinata!
What an amazing year! Reed is truly the happiest baby I’ve ever seen. He smiles and laughs so much, it warms my heart everyday. I won’t lie and make parenthood out to be a cakewalk, because it’s not. If anything, it has given me great perspective on what my parents went thru in raising me and my brother. It’s true that kids give their parents lots of gray hairs and wrinkles..I’ve already got quite a few myself! But the journey so far as been more than I could have every expected, thanks to my beautiful wife Jenni. Reed doesn’t yet fully understand how blessed he is to have a mother who has sacrificed much for him. But he will. It’s been pretty cool to watch Reed grow right before our very eyes, wondering what he’ll do next! God has certainly bless us~
