YIKES!
Talk about doing a “double-take”!
An 8-year-old boy, Seamus Doffey, and his Dad, Michael Coffey, were fishing at a lake in Pennsylvania recently when Seamus hooked a “big one”!
He thought it might be a bass, because it seemed pretty big and fought pretty hard at the end of the line, but when he landed the fish, he and his father noticed something very peculiar about the fish:
It had teeth. Sharp teeth!
That’s when they realized Seamus had caught a piranha!
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission later confirmed the identification.
Experts say it was most likely a pet that was tossed into the ecosystem when it got too big.
