It’s been 74 years.
April 11, 1952. A Pan Am Douglas DC-4 airplane crashed into the ocean shortly after it took off from Puerto Rico.
There were 64 passengers on board the aircraft and 5 crew members aboard. 52 of those people were lost.
And 74 years later, an aviation search team has found the wreckage!
They found the aircraft resting on the floor of the ocean using an underwater drone, and have ended the long search and mystery about where the airplane came to rest after the crash.
