Some of us have family members we aren’t exactly proud to claim (think of that crazy aunt who has 13 cats and parades in her front yard in a thong). But imagine you discover your grandfather is…Charles Manson. Yea, the notorious cult leader and criminal. A woman named Sophia Maddox made that discovery and is now sharing it in a new documentary on Hulu, set to be released on July 22nd. For those that don’t remember the backstory on Manson, he was the one who was sentenced to prison multiple times for various murders. The most notorious was the death of actress Sharon Tate in 1969. I give Hulu and the creators of this documentary credit because they’re very effective of drawing in the audience with a lot of suspense. This poor woman wanted to learn more about her unfortunate heritage to Manson and went so far as to having a personality test and then comparing it to Manson’s. Count me in, July 22nd…I’ll be watching~
