UPDATE (11/22/16) Gwynedd Mercy University’s Justin DeLuzio, who was struck by the deer is said to be recovering and doing fine.

A cross country runner at a regional race at DeSales University in Center Valley didn’t see what hit him, and certainly wasn’t expecting it to be a DEER! Justin DeLuzio, a senior at Gwynedd Mercy University, heard someone shout, “WATCH FOR DEER!”, just as a pack of deer was coming his way. He was struck in the stomach and knocked to the ground! Thankfully, Justin wasn’t seriously injured but did sustain heavy bruising.
