Move over Curt Cobain.
There’s a new record for the most expensive guitar ever purchased!
David Gilmour’s “Black Strat” has earned that honor recently, fetching $14.55 million dollars at a Christie’s auction. And this guitar was originally owned by late Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, part of his huge collection!
This guitar was used by David Gilmour, from Pink Floyd, and was played on every Pink Floyd album from 1970 to 1983, and all four of Gilmour’s solo albums. The guitar was also used in the recordings of various Pink Floyd classics such as “Money”, “Comfortably Numb”, and “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”.
