Some names in the sports world stand out a bit more than others. And some names eclipse everyone else. That’s the case for Notre Dame great, Lou Holtz, easily one of the most successful football coaches. Holts’ family sadly shared this week that he passed away Wednesday morning at his Orlando home. Lou is still the only coach to lead six different teams to bowl games within his career. And Holtz brought much success to other schools including the University of South Carolina, the College of William & Mary, the University of Minnesota, North Carolina State, and the University of Arkansas. Lou’s son, Skip posted this sweet photo:
My father passed away today resting peacefully at home. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers over the last couple months! He was successful, but more important he was Significant. pic.twitter.com/DD76EMLphH
