Think back to the first ‘Rocky’ that put Sylvester Stallone on the map. Specifically, the fight scene at the end between Sly and the great Carl Weathers. It looked so real! Well, now we know why as Stallone has shared the video below that shows the intense practice sessions. Stallone wrote the ‘Rocky’ script and studios even wanted to more well known actor to play the lead role, but Sly stuck to his guns and insisted he play ‘Rocky’. In his post, he described how difficult it was to prepare:
“Before Rocky ever stepped into the ring on screen, there were hours like this. Repetition. Footwork. Timing. Getting hit and getting back up. I wrote the script in three and a half days, but the physical work took months. Nothing about it was accidental. If you want it to feel real, you have to live it”
