Losing weight. It’s one of the top 3 New Year’s Resolutions every year!
And every year, there’s new fads, new ideas, new ways to try to lose those extra pounds.
Some ways are good, productive, and healthy. Some ways, not so much. Here’s one of those “not so much” ways: Plastic wrap eating.
First off, very dangerous, don’t try it! But, it’s all about lining your mouth with plastic cling wrap, putting a “bite” of food in, chewing it, spitting it out, and tossing it out. The idea is that this tricks your brain into believing you’re eating. And some folks say your taste buds actually taste the food somehow! So, you enjoy the food with no calories.
Experts worry that it could intensify cravings over time, because “simulating eating does not provide the body with energy or nourishment.” There’s also concerns that re-wiring your brain this way could lead to serious eating disorders, and of course there’s always a concern you might accidentally choke on the plastic!
