Boy, Pantone really went on a limb with their Color Of The Year for 2026…White??! Actually, the official color is ‘Cloud Dancer’. If you’ve ever noticed at a paint store, the color swatches all have cutesy names like ‘Pig Feet Pink’ or ‘Red Rum Red’ (from the movie ‘The Shining’). Of all the colors that stand out, I’m still puzzled that the Pantone peeps chose such a boring color. White, really? I mean last year, they chose Mocha Mousse. Before that, Peach Fuzz. And even in 2023, Pantone picked Viva Magenta. THOSE are all sexy colors that POP!! White…not so much. One of the comments on social media summed it up best saying: “Is this rage bait? . . . At this rate, next year’s Color of the Year will be clear.” I also liked this comment someone posted, “If Cracker Barrel can change their logo back, you guys can redo this and pick an actual color. Please and thank you.” Come on Pantone, hit the ‘do over’ button and give it another shot~
