The Indy 500 tradition started years ago thanks to driver Louis Meyer who requested buttermilk after he won the 1933 race at the famed oval. Now some drivers today still want to stay true to the tradition and drink buttermilk when they win the 500. Um, have you ever tasted buttermilk? Yea, let’s just say it’s a acquired taste. Each May, American Dairy Association Indiana polls the drivers in advance, asking what their preference is. Here’s what they’re hoping to drink and splash:
