Steve Irwin Day honors life and legacy of Steve Irwin, an entertainer and wildlife expert who was known as the “Crocodile Hunter.” This international, annual event is dedicated to things Irwin was passionate about: family, wildlife, conservation, and fun. I sure miss hearing him say “I have a message for my fans”
Part of the focus of the day is on raising money for the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, a group that was started by Steve and his wife, Terri, in 1992, that continues Irwin’s legacy of conservation work and preservation of wildlife and their habitats.
Irwin was known for taking part in dangerous encounters with animals, wearing khaki clothing, and for his catchphrase, “Crikey!” He and wife had two children, Bindi and Robert. On Sept. 4, 2006, while on a diving expedition, a stingray pierced Irwin’s heart and he died of cardiac arrest.
Currently you are able to watch “The Crocodile Hunter – Season 1” streaming on fuboTV, DIRECTV, Spectrum On Demand, Discovery+ Amazon Channel. But for now here are some of the “Crocodile Hunters” Greatest Moments courtesy: YouTube
