Mardi Gras is right around the corner….just a few weeks away!
New Orleans is getting ready, and you could say they’re “cleaning things up a bit”.
The city actually hired some crews to clean out the storm drains from a five-block area in the French Quarter, right near all the action of Mardi Gras and the festivities. And guess what they found?
93,000 pounds of beads! Yeah, over 46 tons of one of Mardi Gras’s most precious collectible! Needless to say, they didn’t realize that there were that many beads in the sewer clogging things up, but the city is taking precautions and brainstorming ways to keep the drains clear of the beads for this year.
