The 4th of July just isn’t the same without some beautiful fireworks lighting up the sky! For many, many years, Hoosiers were restricted when it came to enjoying fireworks on their property. But that changed a few years back, when our Fireworks Laws were relaxed a bit. You can now set them off on your own property from now thru July 9th. Here’s a report from our news partners at CBS4: http://cbs4indy.com/2015/06/29/indiana-fireworks-laws/
And whereas many of us think nothing of the loud booms that many fireworks create, it can be very stressful for our United States military veterans. I didn’t even think about how that might trigger memories of when they were serving and faced with battle. I’ve heard that many vets become anxious around the July 4th holiday because the loud noises often catch them off guard or the bright flashes set off a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This photo was posted on someone’s Facebook page recently, and wanted to share it. I don’t know the author of this picture or the veteran posing, so my apologizes for not crediting you, but felt it was important to spread the word. Thank you for your service, sir, and let’s all remember to be considerate when lighting fireworks this weekend.
