We made it to Friday! And we sent Stu down to the cellar where we keep the stacks of vinyl, old 45’s, and a few bottles of wine.
Every Friday at 10:25am, he’ll share with you what he “dug up”, and today, he brought back a true “classic”!
Today’s “Lost Classic” is Gary Wright’s “Love is Alive”. This is a song off the ‘Dream Weaver’ album, released in 1976 and reached #2 on the Billboard Charts. (“Dream Weaver” from the same album, also just missed the top spot….peaking at #2).
Other artists who have covered the tune include Chaka Khan, 3rd Bass, Joe Cocker, Survivor, and Joan Osborne. Check out the video of Gary Wright performing the tune on The Midnight Special. (Check out those early “key-tars”)
