The much anticipated and overly hyped new duet between Elton John and Britney Spears has finally arrived. ‘Hold Me Closer’ is their new version of Elton’s classic hit, ‘Tiny Dancer’. It has the same vibe as the remake/mash up that Elton did with pop star Dua Lipa when they recorded ‘Cold Heart’ recently. I love that they didn’t try to ‘remake’ Tiny Dancer in the same tempo, but instead they went uptempo. Had they gone a traditional route of the two music icons singing ‘Tiny Dancer’ it would have been heavily judged and most likely would have never come close to Elton’s original.
