Eric Clapton is supporting Van Morrison’s ‘Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund’ with a new recording of ‘Stand And Deliver’ that’s due out this Friday (Dec 4th). Proceeds will assist musicians who are struggling right now because the music/entertainment industry has come to a stand still during the pandemic. I’m loving this song because Clapton’s voice still has that great bluesy feel. The guitar legend told Variety, “We must stand up and be counted because we need to find a way out of this mess. The alternative is not worth thinking about. Live music might never recover.” Whoa! ‘Never‘?! To say 2020 has been brutal is the ultimate understatement, but with hopes of an effective vaccine for COVID-19, I gotta think we’ll slowly get back to normal next year, and definitely the following year. We can only hope, right?
