Veteran’s Day, on this 11th of November is celebrated today for a reason. It was the end of World War I on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The day is set aside to give thanks to the brave men and women who have put on the uniform and took up the charge to defend and serve our great country. Not to be confused with Memorial Day, when we remember those U.S. service members who have died protecting America, Veteran’s Day honors all military members, past and current who have answered the call. I am grateful for all of them, even though I may not know them personally. However, I am very proud of several family members who are veterans. My late grandfathers, my step-father, my late uncle, both my wife’s brothers, and several friends have my deepest respect and gratitude.
