Slang terms.
Think about it.
New slang terms get introduced all the time, and it’s tough to try and remember all the things the kids are saying these days.
Like “slay”, “Let him cook”, and “nothing burger”.
And I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “out with the old and in with the new”, right?
That’s exactly what’s happening with some of the old phrases and sayings that your grandparents used to use. (Or heck, maybe you used to use ’em!)
Phrases like “the bee’s knees”…..that meant something was excellent!
And “now you’re cooking with gas”………actually a compliment, but first used in the 1930’s as an ad slogan for gas stoves.
And who can forget “close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades”…..a clever way of saying that almost isn’t good enough.
