Shriek-flation. It’s for real this Halloween.
And it’s as spooky as it sounds.
It’s a pretty simple concept: You’re spending MORE money and getting LESS candy.
Halloween candy is shrinking, and the costs has gone up 71% the last 5 years!
I guess the biggest culprit is cocoa prices. They’ve jumped 144% the last few years.
Want some examples? Here ya go:
***Hershey’s Dark Chocolate Assortment . The bag is now 17% smaller than it once was.
***Rolo Party Packs. They shrank from 40 ounces to 35.6 ounces while prices increased.
***M&M’s Party Size Packs. They have shrink-flated almost 10% in size since 2019.
