When I first heard that Nicolas Cage had been cast to play legendary NFL coach, John Madden, I had my doubts. Madden was bigger than life and even physically, he was bigger than Cage. But of course that’s never kept Hollywood from telling a story. By adding the right wig and a ‘fat suit’, Cage transformed himself into the iconic coach. Hell, he even pulled off the voice (for the most part). You’ll remember that Madden had a certain speech pattern and sound. Check out the trailer for the upcoming ‘Madden’ biopic, set to start streaming on Prime on November 18th. BUT, I think producers screwed up and overlooked the better actor to play Madden: Frank Caliendo. The comedian does a spot on impression of Madden and has even looked like him in comedy sketches and interviews (scroll down to see the video below).
