Do you remember Roseanne Barr’s horrendous performance of the Star Spangled Banner in 1990? I think my ears are still burning because of her screeching voice! Well, check out this recent rendition that left spectators speechless! It was Motown legend, Martha Reeves along with a couple of other singers, at the Women’s Pro Baseball League opener on August 1st. God bless Reeves, who’s 85, for still being active, but why on earth didn’t someone tell her that this wasn’t a good idea?! All of us will reach a moment in our lives when we are clearly, ‘past our prime’. Again, no disrespect to Martha, but this is embarrassing. Our National Anthem should always be held in the highest regards and performed with respect.
Here’s one of the funniest comments that someone left in the video below: “The national anthem recorded on cassette tape and played on a boom box with dying batteries”. Nailed it~
