With the price of nearly everything going up these days, including shipping, you gotta get creative and find ways to cut costs. Some business owners are now adding a small bag of rocks to some lighter packages to help weigh them down. You’d think this would increase the shipping costs, but you’d be wrong. Supposedly, the USPS charges more if a package were say, 13.1 ounces, but would actually charge less if it weighed 2 pounds and 3 ounces (just by adding some rocks!)! How does this make any sense?

This business owner’s order originally cost $7.60 to ship. He added a bag of rocks to make the package heavier, and the shipping price dropped to $5.97. pic.twitter.com/uONVrUGsrj
