Remember Sally?
The AI robot that was going to be deployed in school district in upstate New York. The school board approved the nearly $60,000.00 purchase from Realbotix and felt the addition of Sally to the classroom would be beneficial to the students, especially those interested in robotics and technology fields.
But now, they’ve hit the pause button on the project.
Why? Several reasons.
Teachers felt it “dehumanized” the profession of teaching, parents and teachers worried about how student’s personal information would be used, and allegedly Realbotix has a sister company that produces “sex dolls”. (They deny the claim.)
