Before I begin this story, keep this in mind: William Shatner, AKA “Captain Kirk”, is 95 years old!
And I hope when I’m that age, I still have the “get up and go” that he has!
William Shatner is set to perform a metal set at Chicago’s Riot Fest with an all-star band backing him up!
The backing band includes members of the Nuclear Messiah collective, such as guitarist Marcus Nand and bassist Phil Soussan.
As you recall, Shatner is currently working on a heavy metal album for Cleopatra Records, featuring covers of Judas Priest songs with guest appearances from Rob Halford and Mikkey Dee.
And is this all just a gimmick? Nope!
Brian Perera of Cleopatra Records insists that Shatner’s performance at Riot Fest is not a novelty but a genuine rock show with world-class musicians!
