Pretty simple, right? It means the roadway ahead is off-limits to vehicles. It indicates that the path is impassable, unsafe, or restricted due to construction, weather events, or emergencies. You must find an alternate route and not attempt to drive past the barrier.
A driver in Wisconsin learned that a “road closed” sign was up for a reason after he proceeded forward and drove straight into fresh concrete!
