The old saying is true, ‘NOTHING good ever happens at 1:00 in the morning’. World eating champion, Joey Chestnut, has plead guilty to a battery charge of supposedly slapping a man at a pub in Westfield this past March. Chestnut is a resident in Westfield and as you’ll hear in the report from WTHR below, it seems he was hanging out at the bar when another patron approached him to talk. Probably recognized Joey and maybe wanted an autograph. Security cameras caught Joey shaking the man’s hand and then slapping him. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that alcohol was involved. We’ve all been there, one too many drinks and you start making stupid decisions. Chestnut said he didn’t remember the incident. Again, booze can have that affect. And I’d like to know exactly what was said that potentially set Joey off. Hey, if nothing else, the man has bragging rights that he’s gone one-on-one with the World Eating Champ…and came out on top~
