Happy Friday the 13th! Hope it’s a “lucky” day for you!
And let’s talk the movie, “Friday The 13th”.
And do you remember the summer camp in the movie “Friday The 13th”? You know, the one where the counselors are terrorized by a masked figure. The movie pretty much started the legend of Jason Voorhees.
The camp in the movie goes by the fictional name of “Camp Crystal Lake”. But it was shot at a real summer camp called “Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco” in New Jersey. This camp is run by the Boy Scouts of America and was established in 1927, making it the oldest continuously operating Scout camp in the state.
The camp hosts Scouts and Scouting events every summer, but it does offer various tours for horror fans as well! These tours include full length walking tours that visit all of the filming locations in the camp and shorter lakefront tours that take you directly to the center of the movie set.
