The shelf life of a Twinkie is supposed to be 45 days. That’s according to brilliant creators at Hostess. But a scientist in Maine named Roger Bennatti has proof that a Twinkie can exist for 50 YEARS! The Straits Times covered this story a few years ago, but now that we’ve reached 2026, fans are celebrating Twinkie’s mile marker birthday. Most foods have additives that will give them a longer ‘shelf life’, but beyond 45 days, you might be pushing it with a Twinkie (or any food for that matter).
