Decisions. We make ’em every day! Some of those decisions are easy. Some are not so easy.
Some decisions cause stress. BIG TIME STRESS! And a recent study found that some of life’s toughest decisions have a consistent theme: Perceived risk.
The study asked people about their hardest, toughest, and most stressful life decisions. Here’s the Top 10 Answers:
- New job. Accept? Or decline?
- Whether or not to quit your current job, without a back-up plan. Just quit.
- Investing money. Yes? Or no?
- Driving. Should I drive when tired? When there’s bad weather? When I’m “buzzed”?
- Become self-employed. Should I take the plunge and go for it?
- Buying a house.
- Should I get the surgery my Dr. recommends? Or just hope I’ll be OK?
- Getting married. Should I “pop the question”?
- Vaccinated. Do I really need to do it?
- Moving. Should I move to another city? State? Country?
No doubt, those are all “tough” questions and all have a common theme of perceived risk. Others that made the list included: Whether or not to have children, whether to get an education or training, whether or not to meet up with people or stay home, and whether or not to get insurance.
