A very unique movie prop will soon be featured at The Alamo. Nothing to do with any unique artifacts from the Battle of The Alamo. It’s actually a bright red 1950S Schwinn bike that Pee-Wee Herman rode in his flick, ‘Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure’. It sold recently at auction for $125,000! And now it will be featured permanently at The Alamo in the summer of 2027. Why the wait? That will be the year for the 40th anniversary of the film. I’d imagine the film will be re-released and some other promotions will surround that anniversary. Would be smart for The Alamo to do a grand prize trip to fly fans of the movie into enjoy their museum and see the bike up close. And how about Schwinn…they could do a nationwide contest and giveaway a few of those iconic red bikes in memory of Pee-Wee and to celebrate the 40th of his famous film~
