Everyone has an off day. Even rock-n-roll stars. Arnel Pineda, the lead singer of Journey, hasn’t quite sounded like himself lately. During a performance this month, his voice cracked and it was clear he was struggling. Take a listen here:

After receiving both critisim and support from fans, Pineda had a ‘come to Jesus’ moment, offering to leave the band if enough Journey fans thought it was time for him to go. Here’s part of his explanation:

Should Pineda hang it up? HELL NO! The guy can sing and clearly just stressed his voice. No need to quit but instead, just take a break. So many artists and bands push themselves, often out of green wanting to play as many shows as possible, making as much money as they can. But you have to listen to your body…not the critics~
