If there was ever a movie to be made into a broadway musical, ‘Purple Rain’ has to be it. The 1984 film, starring Prince as The Kid, still has a cult following today. No word on when the stage musical will take place, but here’s an even better question: who will play his purple majesty? I could see Netflix or one of the networks making this into a reality competition to find the most talented entertainer who has the sound and look of the late artist. Prince had a certain swagger and confidence while on stage, so imagine trying to find someone to portray that perfectly in this musical production. We’ll have updates as we learn more. Can’t wait!
