GNR fans seem split on the release of their latest song, ‘Perhaps’. No, it doesn’t have the same rockin’ sound of GNR back in 1987, but gimme a break! That was over 30 years ago! None of the bands or entertainers from back then sound the same. ‘Perhaps’ delivers strong guitars, piano and Axl still able to belt out a tune. Yes his voice is not what I remember from first hearing ‘Paradise City’ years ago. A friend of mine who heard ‘Perhaps’ was whining that she didn’t like it. I said, “would you rather GNR just retire?” Of course fans will always long for the classic hits, but consider that Meatloaf didn’t have one of his biggest hits, ‘I’d Do Anything For Love, But I Won’t Do That’, until 1993. And whether you believe it or not, Axl and the guys are most certainly capable of creating another hit in 2023 like ‘Welcome To The Jungle’.
