Some Race Fans Were Upset With Jewel’s Performance At This Year’s Indy 500

Well, try as you might, there’s no pleasing everyone. Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, Jewel performed the National Anthem at this past weekend’s Indianapolis 500. As you’ll hear, it’s at a slower tempo, but still quite beautiful. Some fans however weren’t having it and even found it to be blasphemous. What?! There’s no ‘golden rule’ that says it has to be performed a certain way, but only that you don’t change the lyrics (as Steven Tyler did slightly in 2001). On the flip side of the critics, most, including me, feel she did it justice. What do you think?
