The Boss has finally gotten his day…at least in Jersey. Bruce Springsteen Day is now officially a designated day in New Jersey, thanks to their Governor, Phil Murphy. September 23rd is The Boss’s birthday and as you can see from the declaration below, it’s a day to celebrate his musical contributions. Bruce was born in Long Branch, New Jersey and has always been an ambassador for the state. What a fitting tribute to this rock icon who has made The Garden state proud!
Bruce Springsteen is one of the most iconic and influential musicians – and New Jerseyans – of all time, period.
And so, I am both honored and proud to announce @springsteen‘s birthday, Sept. 23, will officially be known as Bruce Springsteen Day in the Garden State. pic.twitter.com/Ux5B54jdlB

Got me to thinking about which Hoosier musicians should get similar treatment here in Indiana. Axl Rose? Janet Jackson? John Mellencamp? Michael Jackson? Henry Lee Summer?
