Dolly Parton Assembles Rock& Roll Legends For Her New Album

She will always love her fans! When Dolly Parton was reluctantly inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, she vowed to make a rock album that would justify her presence on the roster. Now, the country music legend is making good on her promise announcing some high-profile rock collaborators joining her on the project, titled Rock Star. In my opinion it’s not gonna be a Hard Candy Christmas this year!

“If I’m gonna be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I’m gonna have to do something to earn it,” Parton said at the Rock Hall induction. And she’s more than delivering! “I’m doing my best to get Mick Jagger on board, but I did his song anyway,” she said. “I think Pink and Brandi Carlile are going to be singing on that particular song with me.” Dolly revealed who’s definitely on board, an A-list roster that includes Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, former Journey singer Steve Perry and Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler. Parton said she’s also been searching around for the right song she can sing with Cher.

Parton said the album would be a mix of originals (including one called “Rockin’”) and covers of songs by Prince (“Purple Rain”), Journey (“Open Arms”) and Lynyrd Skynyrd (“Free Bird”). See the full interview here courtesy YouTube:
