It’s a song that Queen bandmates didn’t think would ever be able to share with the world. A Freddie Mercury gem that’s been sitting, too damaged, unusable…until now. Thanks to the brilliant work by top sound engineers, ‘Face It Alone’ has been brought back to life.
Not sure what I was expecting, but this new Queen song has a certain melancholy feel that’s a bit of a downer. Depressing really. Don’t get me wrong, I love that we’re able to hear Freddie singing again, it’s just…sad. Makes me think perhaps of what the late Queen frontman may have been experiencing in the final days of his life after being diagnose with AIDS. Joni said it best this morning, it’s a ‘passionate’ song. You really feel Freddie’s emotions in this new release.
