It happened……41 years ago this week in 1981……MTV launched!

“Music Television” was launched to approximately 2 million homes at 12:01 A.M. It started off with the words: “Ladies and gentleman, rock and roll.” 

Do you remember the first video shown? It was “Video Killed The Radio Star” by The Buggles….whose prophecy did NOT come true, thank you very much! In fact, MTV gave up playing videos many years ago, and nobody’s heard from the Buggles in 30 years!

And you, well, still listening to the R-A-D-I-O!!!!!! And so glad you are! Keep on rocking!
