‘Hit me with your best shot, fire away!’. Lyrics we all know and love from Pat Benatar’s classic hit, ‘Hit With Your Best Shot’. But don’t expect to hear Pat sing that song when she performs at the Indiana State Fair on August 7th. The Rock N Roll Hall of Famer recently told USA TODAY, “…fans are having a heart attack and I’m like, I’m sorry, in deference to the victims of the families of these mass shootings, I’m not singing it. I tell them, if you want to hear the song, go home and listen to it”. Even though the song has a tongue in cheek meaning, it would sound strange in the horrible climate we live in with a new shooting every week. Especially after the incident at the Greenwood Park Mall that claimed the lives of three innocent people.
